Fifth Sunday in Lent. We are approaching Passion Time and Easter, the celebration of the New Life that germinates and is awakened through suffering and death. This weekend’s gospel tells of a woman, already condemned to death by the world, waiting for the first stone that will destroy her. But through Jesus’ silence and writing in the sand, through his ‘not judging’, she is set free and challenged to new life. We are all challenged to live anew and to give those on our path the space to live anew.
