Our society is familiar with stories of people who feel pressure to perform better, or people who are constantly jockeying for their position, at the expense of others. But even in the Gospel, the disciples are asking Jesus for a place of honour. Jesus tells them that abuse of power should not take place in the Christian community. He himself will give the ultimate example of servant leadership.
