The sacrament of marriage, the bond of love and fidelity between a man and a woman, is elevated to a sacrament in the Catholic Church. It serves as an outward sign of God’s love and faithfulness to humanity. This sacrament is conferred upon each other by the couple through their exchange of vows. The ceremony takes place in the church, in the presence of a priest or deacon as the Church’s witness, and in the presence of the witnesses invited by the couple.
A wedding ceremony is a religious celebration that can be incorporated into the Eucharist (Holy Mass). Couples wishing to have their marriage blessed in the Krijtberg are requested to complete and submit the application form below. After receiving the form, one of the priests will contact you to arrange the wedding date and preparatory meetings.
If the couple wishes to have their marriage blessed in the Krijtberg by their own priest or deacon, it is necessary to make arrangements in advance with the rector or his deputy. If you would like the Krijtberg’s assistance in preparing for your marriage but plan to have it blessed elsewhere, please also complete the application form so that one of the priests can contact you to discuss further arrangements.
Note: The Krijtberg only accepts weddings that are requested by the couple themselves and not those organized by an event manager or wedding planner.
