{"id":14790,"date":"2019-01-04T22:30:52","date_gmt":"2019-01-04T21:30:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/krijtberg.nl\/?p=14790"},"modified":"2024-10-14T11:38:49","modified_gmt":"2024-10-14T11:38:49","slug":"nativity-scene-in-the-krijtberg","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/krijtberg.nl\/en\/nativity-scene-in-the-krijtberg\/","title":{"rendered":"Nativity scene in the Krijtberg"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The stage for the nativity scene is derived from the neogothic world of this church: the canopy (ciborium) above the high altar with the tabernacle, the place of Christ\u2019s presence in the bread of the Eucharist.<br \/>\nIt is the neogothic version of the \u2018holy of the holiest\u2019 in the temple, traditionally the dwell-ing of the physical presence of God. It is flamboyantly deco-rated with countless pinnacles and elements pointing towards heaven.<br \/>\nThe familiar image of the Holy Family, taking the first child in-to the folds of a simple family, is placed in a surrounding conveying the destiny of the Child: the palace of the eternal King, with a heavenly canopy surrounded by angels.<\/p>\n<p>High above the Lamb of God is visible, a lamb with a cut open flank from which blood flows into a chalice: unmistakably the image of Christ giving His life to the community of believers.
