At a church funeral, the bereaved and the church community commend the deceased to God’s mercy and love. Together with the life of Jesus, we offer the faithful life of this departed person to God’s fatherly goodness during the celebration of the Eucharist. We bid liturgical farewell and accompany the deceased on their final journey.
If someone has expressed the wish to be carried out from the Krijtberg after their passing, it is advisable to inform the rector of this intention in advance. After the person’s death, the family or the funeral director should contact the Krijtberg rectory to arrange the date and time of the funeral. Please also complete the application form for this purpose. The priest who will lead the funeral service will then contact the family to prepare the ceremony. It can also be arranged whether the priest will accompany the deceased to the cemetery or crematorium.
