5th Sunday of Lent

On this last Sunday before Holy Week, Jesus looks at us with the same gaze as He looked at that woman who had been caught in adultery. We need forgiveness as much as they do for our sins and mistakes. But how do we in turn look at Jesus? With the confident but guilty gaze of the scribes and Pharisees? Or like the woman who remains alone with Jesus and awaits his judgment in fear and trembling? “I don’t condemn you either,” says Jesus, and so this woman meets his redeeming goodness. St. Paul says: “Knowing Christ Jesus, my Lord, surpasses everything”.
