12th Sunday in Ordinary Time

“Don’t be afraid of the people!” It’s easier said than done. Now if we have to keep 1.5 meters away from each other that’s a symbolic sign of the threat that we are now apparently very clear to each other. But we always experience something of insecurity towards other people. Jeremiah, the prophet, clearly had reason to fear his fellow citizens, who were not happy with his warnings. But his trust in God helped him to stand firm. In the same way Jesus himself gave himself confidently to his Father’s allegiance beyond death. Let us try to follow Jesus in this as well.
